• EYFS Barracks Trip

  Reception had a fantastic time at Combermere Barracks yesterday. The children were given the opportunity to explore the soldiers uniform and were taught why it is designed it such a way. They were also given the opportunity to explore the stables and the museum to learn about how the army have evolved over the years. Thank you to the Foundation team for organising such a lovely trip.

  

• Well Windsor Art Competition

  Today in Celebration assembly, the children who took part in the Well Windsor art competition were awarded their certificates. Very well done to the children in the photo who achieved Highly Commended, and a huge congratulations to Manraj who was the overall winner!

  

• House Captains lead EYFS sports events

  Today the Windsor School Spots Partnership came into school to run a selection of fun games and team activities for our EYFS classes. The children were supported by the House Captains, who led each of the activities, and everyone had a wonderful, time playing each of the games. Thank you to Mark Bignall from WSSP for organising the event.

  

• VE Day

  Yesterday we celebrated the 80^th anniversary of VE Day. The children started the day with a whole school assembly on the history behind the event and then finished the day with cake and squash whilst in the shape of a V on the field. Thank you to Mrs Lee for organising the event.

  

• Wild Worship

  During Angles' Wild Worship, Reverend Rosie shared the book, 'The Candle, the Curtain and the Cross'. The children were inspired to make some beautiful Easter gardens on the field and learnt how to bind two sticks with string to make a cross for their garden.

  

• Year 4 Residential Trip

  Last week the Year 4 children went on their residential trip to Lodge Hill in Pulborough. The weather was glorious, and we had a great time. We took part in archery, fencing, wall climbing, low ropes, orienteering, team building, circus skills and sno-tubing. We went on a night hike and the children had 3 days of fun and exploring.  A huge thank you to the team that went who ensured the children were looked after and had a great time, and to Mrs Hawkes for organising such a wonderful experience for the children.

  

• Clewer Green alumni

  This morning a group of Windsor Boys and Windsor Girls, who were previous students at Clewer Green, came back to Clewer to share the music opportunities that they have at TWBS and TWGS. It was so lovely to see them and hear them playing and singing. This event was a great example of collaboration across WLP schools, showing how older students can contribute to their wider school community. It also helps to inspire the younger pupils, who were excited to see what they might be able to achieve in the future. Thank you to Mr. Manwaring, and William Branch, for organising such a lovely event.

  

• Jack Rankin visit

  Jack Rankin, MP for Windsor, came to visit. He is interested in the ‘My Happy Mind’ programme which is funded by the Well Windsor charity. He observed a ‘My Happy Mind’ session in Norman Class and spoke to a group of Year 4 children, as well as Mrs Redvers who leads the initiative at Clewer.

  

• Disco Night!

  Friday night was Disco Night! The children had a wonderful time last Friday evening at the school disco. A huge thank you to The Friends for organising the event, and to all the volunteers who make events such as this possible.

  

• Wild Worship

  In Wild Worship today, Reverend Rosie read "The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross" to Victorians. It is a beautiful story starting from the garden where the people were happy to live with God, through many, many years of sadness when they did not want Him to be in charge, to the cross where the people could live happily with Jesus again. The children then had a wonderful time making scenes from the book using twigs, leaves, flowers and blossom that they found on the field. A big thank you to Reverend Rosie for introducing us to this book.
