Visit to Woolley Firs - 25 March 2022

As part of our learning about mini-beasts Foundation Stage enjoyed a wonderful day out at Woolley Firs Environmental Education Centre this week. We were so lucky to have wonderful weather and the children were outside all day enjoying their adventures around the 300 year old farm. They were so busy and were involved in the following activities throughout the day, only stopping for a well-earned picnic lunch in the sunshine. They hunted for mini beasts in the woods, sorting them into the numbers of legs, listened to mini beast poems in Hedgehog Hollow, decorated a dragonfly with things from nature on Ladybird Lawn, took part in a bingo style nature hunt whilst walking around the arable lands, investigated the ponds  and dipped for water mini beasts, identifying them on charts. The excitement on their faces was a delight for us to witness and the learning was huge! Our thanks go to Lynn and Claire from BBOWT for organising us such a wonderful day.

Here is a selection of photos of them enjoying their day.
