Gummy Fossil Experiment - Oct 2023
Continuing the Rocks and Soils Science topic, Year 3 attempted to show how fossils are created. We used slices of bread to represent the layers of sedimentary rock and gummy sweets for the original animals that died. After placing the gummies between the layers of bread, we applied lots of pressure (books) and left them for a couple of days.....
When we separated the slices of bread, we could clearly see the imprints made by the sweets showing their exact shapes.
