Year 4 Bake Off
Fri 20 Jun 2025The Year 4 Bake Off reached the final yesterday, and the four finalists baked and decorated the most amazing creations. It’s been a tough competition, as I’ve had to taste 60 cupcakes, 10 scones and four delicious showstopper cakes, but yesterday Matthew was crowned our very worthy winner as he made a jungled themed chocolate cake! Congratulations also to our three runners up, Eve, Gianna and Nino who also made delicious cakes. (Photos of all the 4 cakes are on our school website, Instagram and Twitter). Many thanks to Mrs Groves, who volunteered her time to come in and bake with all the children.

Roman Day in Year 3
Fri 20 Jun 2025Year 3 had a fantastic time at their Roman Workshop today. Lulius Marcellinus, our legionary soldier, took them through life as a Roman landing in Britain - from authentic army training to tasting a 2000 year-old lentil stew and becoming a history detective. The day was a great combination of knowledge and fun, and the children enjoyed every minute.

Wild Worship
Fri 13 Jun 2025Year 4 took part in a special Wild Worship this week. Visiting clergy and advisors from the Diocese came to see what we get up to on the field with Reverend Rosie. The children had fun making kites after thinking about how the holy spirit felt like a wind descending on the disciples during Pentecost. We showed our visitors how we can become still and calm through meditation and how we use our lovely outdoor space to explore bible stories. The children commented that it was "the best lesson ever!"

Pentecost
Fri 06 Jun 2025It was a very happy birthday celebration at St Andrew's church this week. On Thursday, children from Years 1-4 visited to learn the story of Pentecost and how, after Jesus ascended, the disciples experienced the holy spirit and the church was born. Some children offered prayers, including Nethini who offered a Buddhist prayer, and we all dressed in flame colours to remember how one of the ways the holy spirit appeared was as a flame. We'd like to thank Reverend Rosie and her team of volunteers who worked really hard to look after us.

Year 2 Trip
Fri 06 Jun 2025Year 2 had an amazing trip to Bucklebury Farm this week. They fed deer from a trailer, stroked animals in the petting area, and met Alpacas, goats, pigs, donkeys and other animals. Great fun was had by all in the adventure playground and making dens during the forest walk was a great hit! Staff were very impressed with the conduct of all the children. They were great ambassadors for Clewer Green First School.
