  • Potato Challenge!

    Tue 15 Jul 2025

The children reached the climax of their potato challenge last Thursday. During Science week each class planted 3 seed potatoes in a sack and were challenged to tend, water and grow as many as possible outside their classrooms. On Thursday they each unearthed their sacks and weighed their harvest. Runners up were Tudors with 869g and winners were Celts with 1414g. Congratulations to all the children for taking part.

  • Winton House

    Tue 15 Jul 2025

A group of our Year 4 pupils enjoyed an interesting visit to Winton House, last week, where the residents were commemorating the life of Sir Nicholas Winton who worked tirelessly all throughout his life to help those in need. He is well known for helping hundreds of children escape Czechoslovakia before the start of World War 2 and ensuring they were housed and educated in Britain. Sir Nicholas Wintons' son spent time talking about his father with the children and sharing some inspiring thoughts for the children to ponder on. The children had time to reflect on a man who, in his son's words, "decided to get involved" and to not "live life as a passenger". He asked the children to always consider people as "envelopes" because "it's what's inside that matters".

  • My Happy Mind

    Fri 04 Jul 2025

On Tuesday Mrs Redvers led an information session to parents about the ‘My Happy Mind’ programme that is being taught in school. It was a hugely informative session, and the children involved spoke so clearly and eloquently about the function of the brain and how our ‘happy breathing’ can help us when we are feeling anxious. Thank you to Mrs Redvers for leading this initiative so passionately for the benefit of all the children.

  • Stuart Class assembly

    Fri 04 Jul 2025

Stuart Class performed their assembly, and they shared with us all the amazing things that they had learnt in their Science lessons throughout the year. We were informed all about rocks, bones, forces, and plants, but most importantly we learnt what wonderful inquisitive scientists all the children are! Thank you to Mrs Lee and the year 3 team for all their work with making the props and putting the assembly together.

  • Sports Day

    Fri 04 Jul 2025

Last week we held our annual Sports Day. It was lovely to see so many parents and carers attend and support their children as they took part in a number of activities as well as the running races. Congratulations to Arundel House for winning the whole school relay, and this year they completed the double by also winning the trophy for the most points accumulated in the morning activities! The Arundel House captains were awarded the Sports trophy on behalf of their house.

  • Year 4 Bake Off

    Fri 20 Jun 2025

The Year 4 Bake Off reached the final yesterday, and the four finalists baked and decorated the most amazing creations. It’s been a tough competition, as I’ve had to taste 60 cupcakes, 10 scones and four delicious showstopper cakes, but yesterday Matthew was crowned our very worthy winner as he made a jungled themed chocolate cake! Congratulations also to our three runners up, Eve, Gianna and Nino who also made delicious cakes. (Photos of all the 4 cakes are on our school website, Instagram and Twitter). Many thanks to Mrs Groves, who volunteered her time to come in and bake with all the children.

  • Pick Up Performance

    Fri 20 Jun 2025

We had a wonderful ‘Pick Up Performance’ on the playground. The children sang a selection of cheerful songs, led by Mrs Laver. Thank you to everyone who came along; it was a great turn out!

  • Roman Day in Year 3

    Fri 20 Jun 2025

Year 3 had a fantastic time at their Roman Workshop today. Lulius Marcellinus, our legionary soldier, took them through life as a Roman landing in Britain - from authentic army training to tasting a 2000 year-old lentil stew and becoming a history detective. The day was a great combination of knowledge and fun,  and the children enjoyed every minute.

  • Tee - Ball

    Fri 13 Jun 2025

On Thursday our Year 2 classes had a great time at the Tee-Ball festival at St. Edward’s Middle School. The children all tried their best at this new sport and all were wonderfully behaved and polite.

  • Ancient Greek Day

    Fri 13 Jun 2025

Year 4 had fun today dressed up as Ancient Greeks! We made Greek pots out of clay, tasted a variety of foods, took part in Greek debating and looked at myths and legends. The children looked amazing; thank you for all your support with their costumes.
