It was lovely to see the school looking so bright and cheerful today as the children wore flame coloured clothes to mark Pentecost. Pentecost is a major Christian festival celebrated 50 days after Easter. It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus, an event that empowered them to spread their message and is widely regarded as the "birthday" of the Christian Church.
