Gardening Day

Year 3 and 4 took part in Clewer Green’s First Garden Action Day. Woolley Firs volunteers came in to help us plant seeds and herbs that had been kindly donated by parents, build bird boxes for the school grounds, construct a hibernaculum as a shelter for animals who need to hibernate over winter and put in summer bedding plants across the school.  Lots of bunting was also created to celebrate an area of the school field which has been designated for no mow May. We were very lucky to have some fantastic parent volunteers to help make the day a great success, a big shout out to Mrs Flisher, Mrs Cutter and Mrs Mansour who spent the day tirelessly gardening and organising. The children loved getting involved; this would not be possible without the support of parents and our wonderful parent’s group who have installed a new hosepipe to help us water everything and keep it looking healthy.
