Year 2 had a wonderful role play day, exploring what it would be like in Scutari hospital during the Crimea war compared to our modern hospital today. The Scutari hospital experience involved the children chasing rats off the ward, cleaning floors, making herbal remedies and lamps, writing application forms to work at the hospital using quills and ink and of course caring for soldiers on beds of straw.  Great fun was had by all. A Florence Nightingale play led by the pupils ended the day on a wonderful note.

Children noticed the differences in the modern hospital and worked hard to keep it clean and hygienic whilst having lots of fun. It was lovely to see some incredibly caring and nurturing play which is a great sign for our future healthcare professionals.
