Field Day - 17 July 2021

What a lovely way to finish off our year together. On Thursday all of Foundation Stage took part in  a day out in our field. Working "Forest School" style the children took part in a variety of activities including pond dipping, sky walking, creating natural pictures and a scavenger hunt to fill an egg box. To give them energy they snacked on their own home grown potatoes and carrots. Later they learned how to light a camp fire and how to stay safe around it. They each cooked a sausage and enjoyed eating it "hotdog" style in a bread roll accompanied by their home grown onions fried over the fire. After a picnic lunch and listening to the story "Stickman" they were treated to a turn on the Play-trail and finished their day taking part in an outdoor obstacle course with planks, logs and an army camouflage net. Crossing the finish line they were able to enjoy a final treat of a rhubarb muffin, which they had made themselves from their own home grown rhubarb.

All the staff would like to praise the children for their exemplary behaviour, meaning that the day was for us all one to remember for years to come. Please have a look at the photos here to see some of what we all got up to on the day!
